The team behind one of the leading Skeptically-oriented podcasts is coming to Christchurch! The ‘SGU’ is a weekly show that has been running since 2005, talking about the latest scientific news and debunking woo in all its forms – including pseudoscience, the paranormal, conspiracy theories and alt-med.

There will be presentations from the hosts, along with a live SGU show recording from the conference stage. Steven Novella, Cara Santa Maria, Evan Bernstein, Jay Novella and Bob Novella will all be attending.

The SGU will also be recording a super-special private podcast session on Friday 29 November, from 4pm to 6pm, just prior to the Friday Night Gathering. This extra show is an optional and independent pay-for event, which helps them offset travel costs, etc. To attend, you will need to purchase tickets separately from your conference ticket. Be quick –  tickets are limited, and will sell-out quickly!

How to know what’s really real in a world increasingly full of fake

The SGU hosts co-authored a book, published in 2018, about scientific skepticism: “The Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe: How to Know What’s Really Real in a World Increasingly Full of Fake”. The paperback version will be available for direct purchase at the conference.
