Ekant Veer
Professor Ekant Veer is a multi-award-winning researcher, public speaker, and the MBA Director at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha University of Canterbury. An internationally recognised academic, Ekant was named one of the world’s Top 40 under 40 Business School Professors and has received the Ako Aotearoa Tertiary Teaching Excellence Award alongside UC’s prestigious Teaching Medal. His core research examines the powerful intersection of digital technology, consumer identity, and social change, with a particular focus on how online spaces affect self-expression and community well-being. A frequent commentator on online behavior, technology equity, and social media trends, Ekant also hosts the VeerOffTrack podcast and serves on the board of the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation.
